What Is Food Access?

1 in 9 Americans face food insecurity. Ex-offenders are 8 times more likely than the average American. Food insecurity is the state of being without reliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food.

Access to food can be found at local food banks, food pantries, community churches, and even in your local grocery store by asking attendants for help getting meals on a budget.

It is okay to seek help. Access to food is possible in the Whitely community, and the sources below are opportunities for you to get the food you need.

This pamphlet is a guide for Federal and State food assistance relief, along with an easy table to find food pantries, agencies, free meals, and non-food pantries (hygienic materials).
